<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the appropriate range of caulking load when securing a guide pipe to a back plate by caulking. <P>SOLUTION: The brake cable attachment means for a drum brake comprises the guide pipe 80 in which a stepped portion 83 formed between a large-diameter portion 82 and a small-diameter portion 81 is made in contact with an outer surface of the back plate 10, and the small-diameter portion 81 projecting toward the inner side of the back plate 10 is clinched so as to be secured to the back plate 10; and a brake cable 60 which is undetachably connected to the back plate 10 by inserting an outer casing 62 into the guide pipe 80. A cutout 82a constituting a mechanism which inhibits the brake cable 60 from being detached is formed in the large-diameter portion 82 of the guide pipe 80. The small-diameter portion 81 is formed with a slit 81a at a position which overlaps the cutout 82a as viewed in the axial direction of the guide pipe 80. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
