<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle monitoring device capable of increasing the reliability of security without impairing convenience. <P>SOLUTION: The ECU 19 (CPU 21) of this vehicle monitoring device 10 acquires the image of an operator's seat camera 11 or a front passenger's seat camera 12 for photographing the occupant of a vehicle. The ECU 19 collates the acquired image with a pre-registered face image, and determines whether or not the entry of the occupant into the vehicle is an authorized one.
