PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance, low-cost brushless motor or brushless fan motor for use in various types of business equipment and AV (audio visual) equipment, wherein the motor structure, part shape, and die structure are simplified, thereby the assembling accuracy and the reliability are enhanced, disassembly and reassembly can be carried out without damaging functions or parts, and the manufacturing cost is reduced. SOLUTION: The brushless motor is so constructed that the contour of the circumference of a hole 110 in a boss and a retaining ring 107 is non-circular; the maximum diameter of the retaining ring 107 is smaller than the maximum diameter of the hole 110 in the boss and is greater than the minimum diameter of the hole 110 in the boss; and both the position in which the retaining ring 107 can be inserted into the hole 110 and a position in which the retaining ring 107 cannot be inserted into the boss hole 110 or cannot be pulled out therefrom, after insertion are produced.
