PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high thrust and a wide band by utilizing effectively a magnetic circuit, and to prevent a bad influence on a focus servo and a tracking servo, in a lens drive device used for reading of information and recoding of information of an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: A lens drive device is provided with a movable part 10 provided with a focus coil 12F and a tracking coil 12T to move an objective lens 7 in the its optical path direction and in the tracking direction being orthogonal to the optical path direction, and a fixing part 16 supporting the movable part 10 and having a field magnet means 18 for each coil. an inertia axis (z axis) passing through the centroid G of the movable 10 and an optical axis of the objective lens 7 are made coincident, while the tracking coil 12T is provided at a side plane of one side of the movable part 10 in the (x) axis direction (linear velocity direction of disk), the focus coil 12F is provided at a side plane of the other side, the centroid G of the movable part 10 and a drive center are set at a position being deviated in the (x) axis direction.
