A cooling system for a parasol has a nebuliser housing (20) fitted onto the pole and attached to the parasol control sleeve to slide up and down the pole with the sleeve. The fitting includes a water reservoir with filling port and a motor driven nebuliser unit which provides an atomised spray of water droplets/mist out of a number of openings around the base of the unit. The unit is connected to a power cord through the pole and out of a bottom aperture of the pole. The water level is monitored via a viewing window.
