<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure good function and durability by preventing breakdown well to a membrane electrode assembly 3 (MEA) due to clamping force of separators 1, in a cell for polymer electrolyte fuel cell provided with a cell C constituted from the MEA 3 in which an anode side electrode layer 31 is installed on one side of electrolyte 30 and a cathode side electrode layer 32 is installed on the other surface, a pair of annular gas seals 2 installed clamping outside periphery parts 30a and 30b of the electrolyte 30 exposed on the outer periphery of the MEA 3, and the pair of separators 1 installed while holding the annular gas seal 2 on both sides of the MEA 3. <P>SOLUTION: An edge 20 on a side brought into contact with annular interior of annular gas seal 2 and the electrolyte is in a chamfered structure in the polymer electrolyte fuel cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
