PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To yield a dielectric porcelain composition which prevents the localization of components in a dielectric layer by uniformly covering a barium titanate powder with an additive.
SOLUTION: A carbon dioxide gas is blown into a dispersion prepared by dispersing magnesium hydroxide or basic magnesium carbonate in water to dissolve magnesium hydroxide or basic magnesium carbonate, as magnesium hydrogencarbonate, in water. Then, a barium titanate powder is put in the resultant aqueous magnesium hydrogencarbonate solution to give a barium titanate suspension. The suspension is heated to 50°C or higher, causing basic magnesium carbonate to precipitate so as to adhere to the surface of the barium titanate powder by a uniform precipitation method. The precipitate is fired at 400°C or higher but lower than 1,000°C in the air or in an oxidative atmosphere to convert magnesium hydroxide into magnesium oxide. Thus, a barium titanate powder covered with magnesium oxide is yielded as the dielectric porcelain powder.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
