<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-deck elevator capable of measuring dimension of length between floors with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: In this double-deck elevator provided with an upper cage 2 and a lower cage 3 in an outer cage frame 1, when a stop position of the upper cage 2 and the lower cage 3 is adjusted to a landing position corresponding to an actual building, the outer cage frame 1 is stopped between the floors using an outer cage frame landing position detecting device 8. Two upper and lower cages 2 and 3 are moved in the outer cage frame 1 by a cage room driving device 5. A system for measuring length between floors has a floor-to-floor length measuring function for measuring the length between the floors from information of a stop position of the cages 2, 3 at the time of detecting a landing position of the respective cages 2, 3 by the cage landing position detecting devices 9, 10.
