<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly carry out driving control of a fan according to information on the specifications of a variety of installed devices such as the operating frequency of a CPU, the storage capacities of a hard disk drive, memory and the like. <P>SOLUTION: This fan type air-cooling device comprises an air-cooling fan 11 provided within the casing of equipment 20 or the like having a plurality of installed devices 21, 22 therein; a temperature sensor 12 provided within the casing; and a drive controller 13 which senses temperature within the casing based on detection signals coming from the temperature sensor to set the fan's driving voltage V corresponding to the temperature to control the drive of the fan using the driving voltage. The drive controller has a data file for setting the driving voltage of the fan matching information on the specifications of each installed device.
