PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for adaptively eliminating interference from a signal. SOLUTION: A received signal is linearly amplified along with a first signal path to feed a first signal, and nonlinearly amplified along with a second signal path to feed a second signal. The received signals are substantially simultaneously propagated through the first and second signal paths. The first and second amplified signals are mixed in a ratio according to determined first and second weights, to feed an output signal wherein interference is eliminated. The output signal is filtered to generate a first filtered signal corresponding to a ripple envelope of the output signal, is substantially simultaneously filtered to generate a second filtered signal corresponding to an average peak detecting value of the output signal.
