PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the thickness profile of a paper web in a paper machine which uniformly controls the thickness profile of the paper web, after the paper web is made. SOLUTION: This method for controlling the thickness profile of the paper web in the paper machine, comprising a process A for measuring the thickness profile of the paper web and a process B for adjusting the linear pressure of press rolls in the lateral direction in a press part, is characterized in that the process B is that for adjusting the linear pressure of the press rolls in the lateral direction in the press part to uniform the thickness profile of the paper web.
