PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying device capable of improving drying efficiency of objects to be treated by making hot air easily flow into a drum even in the case that a hat part is positioned at the part of a hot air entrance or hot air exit of a drying treatment chamber during the rotation of the drum. SOLUTION: The drying device 1 is provided with a case body 2 having an object-to-be-treated feeding part 6, the drum 5 freely rotatably provided in a laterally-facing state inside the drying treatment chamber 4 formed inside the case body 2 and provided with air permeability for housing the object to be treated which is fed from the object-to-be-treated feeding part 6, a rotary drive mechanism 26 for rotating the drum 5, a heating unit 11 for heating introduced outdoor air, and an exhaust unit 12 for discharging the hot air to the outside. The hat part 33 is projectingly provided on the peripheral wall inner surface of the drum 5, vent holes 35 are opened at the hat part 33 and the air permeability is provided.
