A method for producing lightweight sound damping layers, e.g. for insulating walls, doors etc., uses foamed protein containing biopolymers or plant fibres loaded with an inorganic granular material and with an open pored structure throughout. The mixture has added alcohol with a boiling point greater than 150 deg. C. Rye flour with a grain size of less than 0.5 mm. Typical inorganic granular materials include chalk, silicates, thermally activated clays, kaolin etc. Plant fibres include wood, hemp, linen, palm leaves, flax or partly mineralised fibres.
|
