<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space motion recognition system and a recognition method thereof, whereby motions over a three-dimensional space can be recognized like writing on a two-dimensional plane, increasing the ability to recognize writing actions over the space without the necessity of other writing planes. <P>SOLUTION: The space motion recognition system recognizes the motion of a system body over a space according to information about changes in the position of the system body detected by a motion detecting part, and then either displays information about the recognized motion on a display or transfers the recognized motion information or a control signal corresponding to the motion information to an external device through a sending/receiving part. In this case, the system has a process for creating a virtual writing plane from the position change information detected through the motion detecting part in order to recognize the motion of the system body, and a process for projecting the system body's trajectory information onto the virtual writing plane created. Also, the system has a virtual writing plane rotary conversion process for converting three-dimensional information into two-dimensional information so that the motion information obtained is displayed on the display as contents in the form of motions over the space. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
