ELECTRON-EMITTING ELEMENT AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron-emitting element which shows superior electron emission characteristics by improving conductivity between a cathode electrode and an electron-emitting region in the electron-emitting element using a carbon nanotube.

SOLUTION: This electron-emitting element is provided with an electron-emitting part 11 to emit an electron by the action of an electric field, and a cathode electrode 12 and a gate electrode 13 to add the electric field to this electron-emitting part 11. The electron-emitting part 11 includes an electron-emitting region composed of the carbon nanotube 11b formed on the surface of a polysilane film 11a and a catalyst metal 11c in order to make the carbon nanotube 11b grow, and the carbon nanotube 11b is distributed in the polysilane film 11a.
