PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having an improved aperture ratio and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is equipped with pixel electrodes and counter electrodes on the surface on the liquid crystal layer side of one transparent substrate between the transparent substrates arranged to face each other through the liquid crystal layer and is equipped with thin-film transistors (TFTs), scanning signal lines for turning on the TFTs, video signal lines for supplying video signals to the pixel electrodes through the turned on TFTs, and counter electrode signal lines for applying a counter voltage to the counter electrodes. The pixel electrodes and the counter electrodes are formed of transparent conductive films and the counter voltage signal lines are formed of a laminated structure of the conductive layers different from the transparent conductive films. As a result, improvement in the aperture ratio, reduction of the light reflection on a display surface and display of good contrast are obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
