PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a degree of fitting freedom of an ignition plug, while avoiding interference of a tool for the ignition plug with a connecting part of a cylinder head and a head cover, increase in the size of the cylinder head and decrease in the rigidity of the head cover, in an overhead cam type engine in which a cam shaft is arranged between an intake valve and an exhaust valve, and in which the spark plug having an axis line intersecting with an extension line of an axis line of the cam shaft to the opposite side of a driven wheel at an angle on a projection drawing to a plane that includes an axis line of a cylinder bore and is parallel to the axis of the cam shaft is fitted to the cylinder head. SOLUTION: A head cover connection face 161F provided for the cylinder head 16F to connect the head cover 17F is formed as an inclined plane obliquely intersecting with a plane orthogonal to the axis line of the cylinder bore 26F, such that the distance between the head cover connection face 161F and a cylinder block 15F decreases toward the driven wheel 149F along the axis line of the cam shaft 131.
