PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a printer having a plurality of print heads in which the position of the print head can be adjusted easily with respect to its carriage, and to provide its print head fixing method. SOLUTION: The printer printing on a print medium by means of a print head comprises a carriage moving relatively to the print medium, a subcarriage being attached to the carriage, a mechanism for adjusting the position of the subcarriage with respect to the carriage, and a plurality of print heads position of which is adjusted with respect to the subcarriage before it is attached.
