PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF RUBBER-REINFORCED COPOLYMERS

A process for the production of rubber-reinforced copolymers which comprises the step of emulsion-polymerizing a vinyl monomer (A) in an aqueous medium in the presence of a macromonomer and a rubbery polymer latex, wherein the macromonomer is a polymer which is obtained by radical -polymerizing a vinyl monomer (B) at 150 to 350°C and which has an end structure represented by the general formula (1) and carboxyl groups which are at least partially neutralized with an alkali and comprises hydrophobic monomer units: (1) wherein X is a polar group; M is a monomer unit; and n is a natural number representing the degree of polymerization.
