<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety when a double-deck elevator is checked. <P>SOLUTION: An operation key of a mobile terminal 11 is operated, so as to indicate start of a first mode at the time of checking. When a numeral of floor information is inputted, the floor information is outputted to a cage room position control device 9 via a winding machine control device 10. The cage room position control device 9 collates the floor information with a floor height dimension table stored in a memory device 9a, so as to extract the floor height corresponding to the floor. The cage room position control device 9 calculates an adjustment distance between upper and lower cage rooms based on the extracted floor height, and outputs it to a cage room drive device 7.
