<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image with stable colors without causing color changes of toner even in case of a stop of operation due to trouble. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 has a plurality of imaging units 20K, 20C, 20M, and 20Y and an intermediate transfer belt to which toner images are transferred one after another therefrom. The respective imaging units 20K, 20C, 20M, and 20Y normally collect toner remaining on an image carrier to a developing unit after primary transfer. A control unit 2, on the other hand, has a collection inhibition part 6 which inhibits toner from being collected to the developing unit from an image carrier of at least one of the imaging units 20K, 20C, 20M, and 20Y in case of abnormality occurrence and a toner discharge part 7 which makes an imaging unit as an object of the collection inhibition part 6 among the respective imaging parts discharge toner on the image carrier to the intermediate transfer belt in case of abnormality occurrence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
