<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which is advantageous in terms of energy density, small, safe and excellent in fuel utilization efficiency, when used for a small fuel cell such as a portable fuel cell in particular, by reducing energy to supply a proper amount of fuel and oxidizer to the electrode of the fuel cell, and by making the volume of a mechanism for controlling an amount of supply and that for an amount of reaction small. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system has a liquid storage part 1 for storing a reaction solution, a reaction part 2 to generate a reaction gas from the reaction solution supplied from the liquid storage part 1, a gas storage part 3 for storing the reaction gas supplied from the reaction part 2, and electrodes 4a, 4c disposed by being bonded to a solid high polymer electrolyte membrane 4b. The system is also provided with the fuel cell for generating power by using the reaction gas supplied from the gas storage part 3 as fuel, and a means for adjusting the supply quantity of the reaction solution to supply the reaction solution to the reaction part 2 from the liquid storage part 1 when the pressure of the liquid storage part 1 is higher than the pressure of the reaction part 2, and to stop supply of the reaction solution when the pressure of the liquid storage part 1 is less than the pressure of the reaction part 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
