摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for suppressing decomposition of a solvent of electrolyte solution for a secondary battery, to provide technology for improving a cycle life of a secondary battery, and to provide technology for suppressing resistance increase of a secondary battery, and obtaining excellent storage characteristics such as an improved capacity retention ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The electrolyte solution for a secondary battery uses an electrolyte solution 15 comprising a non-proton solvent and a cyclic sulfonic ester containing at least two sulfonyl groups. Such cyclic sulfonic ester contributes to form passive state film on an electrode boundary surface of the battery, thus suppressing the decomposition of the solvent molecules. If a positive electrode is of an oxide containing manganese, the cyclic sulfonic ester suppresses melting out of manganese, and prevents the dissolved manganese from attaching to a negative electrode. Accordingly, using the electrolyte solution in a secondary battery allows the cycle characteristics of the secondary battery to be improved by forming a film on the negative electrode and suppressing the negative effect on manganese melting out, as well as the resistance increase of the secondary battery to be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
