PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system allowing retention of security of authentication media. SOLUTION: In this network system wherein a personal computer 1 on a user side and an authentication server 4 with a database 5 are connected by a network 6, the personal computer 1 has an authentication program for setting an external storage media 3 to the authentication media and accessing the authentication media, and the authentication server 4 has a function giving authentication on the basis of data of the database 5 when using the authentication media.
