PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem in a conventional distributed file system wherein a variety of file arrangement rules respectively considering performance, security level, reliability level, usage charge, or the like of each computer, and a plurality of file arrangement rules could not be provided. SOLUTION: When there is a creation request of a distributed file from a user to a computer 2, a computer 4 for management acquires a list of a computer 1 satisfying an arrangement rule selected by the user from the arrangement rules considering performance, security level, reliability level, and usage charge. When there is a reference request of the distributed file from the user to the computer 2, partial files are collected from each computer 1, and pieces of server information are collected from each computer 1. Each computer 2 evaluates arrangement of the partial files on the basis of the arrangement rule selected by the user, and the server information from each computer 1, a destination computer 1 is selected if necessary, and movement of the partial files is instructed.
