PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous determination as abnormal when a tank internal pressure sensor is normal in a tank internal pressure sensor output variation failure diagnostic device for detecting internal pressure of a fuel tank of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: Output variation convergence of the tank internal pressure sensor indicates a normal state of the tank internal pressure sensor, not in slosh failure. Thus, in tank internal pressure sensor output variation failure diagnostic processing, when operating an engine, tank internal pressure sensor output variation discriminating processing (S112 or S136 and S126) is continuously performed for making normal determination even in either in traveling and stopping. Thus, when the tank internal pressure sensor is normal, the normal determination can be early made, and the erroneous determination of making abnormal determination can be prevented.
