PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker for which a user can extend or change functions with high reliability even after a product is purchased without the need of information equipment or the like and the operation part of a main body is simplified. SOLUTION: The rice cooker is provided with an inner pot 2, a heating means 3, the operation part 8, a storage means 11 where data can be rewritten or additionally written and function data or the like are stored, and a control part 10 for controlling the heating means 3 or the like, and the functions can be extended or changed by additionally writing or rewriting the data in the storage means 11 with the function data transmitted from a remote controller 12 separate from the main body 1. By inserting a freely attachable and detachable storage medium 17 storing the function data for extension or for change to the remote controller 12 and transmitting the data of the storage medium 17 from the remote controller 12, the data in the storage means 11 are additionally written or rewritten.
