PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal fitting for mounting an arm, by which an outboard motor manufactured by every manufacturer can be mounted by mounting an arm through utilizing an inside peripheral surface of a guide tube.
SOLUTION: The metal fitting for mounting the arm of the outboard motor comprises a cylindrical supporting pipe 2 which can be inserted into the guide tube 12 from one aperture thereof and can be loosely inserted into a mounting hole 13a penetrating a base end portion of the arm 13, and a central rod body 3 which is slidably inserted into the supporting pipe 2 and protrudes its male screw portion 3a from at least one end of the pipe 2. A plurality of ball retaining holes 2b are drilled on the pipe 2 at the positions loosely inserted into the tube 12 so as to give intervals in the circumferential direction. Part of a ball body 4 is retained by each of the holes 2b so as to move in the radial direction. In addition, tapered portions 3f, the diameter of which increases with the distance from the portion 3a, are provided on the body 3 at the positions corresponding to the ball bodies 4. Respective ball bodies 4 are protruded from the holes 2b outward in the radial direction by tightening a nut 6 engaged with the portion 3a. As a result, the arm is fixed by pressing the bodies 4 against the inside peripheral surface of the tube 12.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
