MAGNETORESISTANCE EFFECT HEAD AND MAGNETIC HEAD ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-yield and a highly reliable magneto-resistance effect head most suited to high-density magnetic recording/reproducing. SOLUTION: Parts of a substrate insulating layer 2 between a substrate 1 and a lower magnetic shield layer 3, a lower gap layer 4 between the lower magnetic shield layer 3 and an electrode layer 8, an upper gap layer 9 between the electrode layer 8 and the upper magnetic shield layer 10, and a separation insulating layer 11 between the upper magnetic shield layer 10 and the lower magnetic core 12 are made of the laminated film body 21 of an insulator and a conductor, electric resistance is controlled to be in the range of 105to 109Ω.
