PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the intrusion of dust stuck to the outer surface of a shutter through the opening of a shell into the shell during shutter opening/closing. SOLUTION: The recording medium cartridge 1 is constituted in such a manner that information recording medium 3, an inner rotor 4, and a shutter 5 are stacked and housed in the cartridge casing 2, and, when the inner rotor 4 is rotated, a shutter driving mechanism 7 opens/closes the opening 6 of the cartridge casing 2 with the shutter 5. The shutter 5 is provided with a groove part 81 on an outer surface side to receive the dust or the like stuck to the peripheral part of the opening 6 when the shutter 5 is moved from a first position for closing the opening 6 to a second position for opening the opening 6.
