Here, Mct is the mass of the air in the cylinder, (u) is the cylinder air flow speed, mc is a flow rate of the air sucked in the cylinder by passing through the periphery of the intake valve, uc is the intake valve passing flow speed, and fp is a force for damping a flow speed of the air by the viscosity of the air in the cylinder. The electric control device estimates a transmission rate and a heat flow rate of heat transmitted to the air in the cylinder from the cylinder on the basis of the cylinder air flow speed (u).
