PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lead-free glass powder useful as a glass material for forming a partition wall of a plasma display panel (PDP), a glass composition using the same and the partition wall and the PDP. SOLUTION: The glass powder for forming the partition wall of the PDP has a composition of 8-18% ZnO, 18-34% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 16-25% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 8-20% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0-14% in total of R<SB>2</SB>O (Li<SB>2</SB>O, Na<SB>2</SB>O, K<SB>2</SB>O), 8-17% in total of RO (CaO, BaO, MgO), 0-13% in total of RF (LiF, NaF, KF), 0-5% TiO<SB>2</SB>, 0-3% ZrO<SB>2</SB>and 0-3% V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>by mass. The glass composition for forming the partition wall of the PDP contains the powder. The partition wall for the PDP is formed from a sintered compact of the glass composition.
