PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen generation of sound because of hitting of a detecting part against a carriage at the time of flushing. SOLUTION: A liquid injection device has a main flushing part 70 which is set outside a liquid injection region to receive a liquid jetted from a liquid injection head, and a sub flushing part 72 set at the opposite side to the main flushing part 70 via the liquid injection region to receive the liquid jetted from the liquid injection head. The liquid injection device is provided with the detecting part 200 which projects in a movement path of the carriage 42 in a steady state, is pressed down by the carriage 42 when coming in contact with the moving carriage 42, and is pressed out of the movement path of the carriage 42 by a target 11 when the target 11 is transferred. A flushing control part 80 is set, which jets the liquid from the liquid injection head to the sub flushing part 72 when at least the target 11 passes the detecting part 200 and before the liquid jet to the target 11 ends.
