PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck for a stud welding gun capable of preventing deposition of spatter on the chuck and a stud. SOLUTION: A stud 46 is held by a pair of chuck claws 48, and air is ejected from a pipe 51 provided on the chuck claws 48 just before conducting welding. Air ejected from the pipe 51 flows to the direction of a lower end of the chuck through a space between the chuck claws 48 and the stud 46, and spatter scattered during the welding is blown off aside the stud 46.
