PYRIDINE NUCLEOTIDE DEHYDROGENASE BASED BIOSENSOR ELECTRODES

The invention provides an electrode for the electrochemically reversible interconversion of the oxidised and reduced versions of a pyridine nucleotide comprising: an electrically conducting surface; an isolated pyridine nucleotide dehydrogenase module of an enzyme; wherein said isolated pyridine nucleotide dehydrogenase module is applied to the electrically conducting surface. The isolated pyridine nucleotide dehydrogenase module may be the Ilambda subcomplex of bovine mitochondrial NADH : ubiquinone oxidoreductase. Electrochemical cells comprising these electrodes are also provided by the invention.
