摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomous moving device for realizing a safe and smooth traveling operation by deciding what an obstacle is, and controlling the traveling of the autonomous moving device according to the obstacle. <P>SOLUTION: This autonomous moving device 1 autonomously travels along a traveling route while recognizing an obstacle and its own location by an environmental information acquiring means 6, and preventing the obstacle. The environmental information acquiring means 6 is provided with an image information acquiring means 7 including an image pickup device 71 for imaging the image of an environment on the traveling route and an image recognition processing means 72 for performing the arithmetic processing of the imaged image to extract an object having preliminarily decided attributes, a distance information acquiring means 8 including a distance measuring device 81 for measuring a distance to the object existing in the environment on the traveling route and its direction and a distance information analyzing means 82 for performing the arithmetic processing of the acquired distance information and an environment recognizing means 9 for outputting the environmental information on the traveling route to a traveling control means 4 based on the information of the object acquired by the image information acquiring means 7 and the distance information acquired by the distance information acquiring means 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
