<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OLED display system which is so adjusted as to improve power efficiency and/or prolong a display life. <P>SOLUTION: The OLED display system includes: a display device in which each pixel has a plurality of LEDs for emitting different colors of light specifying a gamut and one or more additional OLEDs for emitting light of color the gamut, power efficiency of the additional OLEDs being higher than the power efficiency of at least one of the plurality of OLEDs; a means of generating a control signal indicating a quantity of contribution to light output imparted by the additional OLEDs; and a display driver which receives a standard color image signal representing relative luminance and a color to be produced for each pixel and generates a converted color display signal for driving the OLEDs, wherein the display driver is responsive to the control signal for controlling the quantity of light obtained by the additional OLEDs to increase the power efficiency of a display device and/or lower the deterioration speed of the display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
