PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an inconvenience that a carton (21) can not be opened by warping into a V-shape when it is opened. SOLUTION: This apparatus for opening and transferring the carton is equipped with a carton stock part (11) for the cartons (21) and (21) under a flat folded condition, a suction head (15) taking out the carton (21) from the carton stock part (11) under a condition where the surface sheet (a) of the carton (21) is sucked, and transferring it along a relay passage, and a carton conveyor (4) receiving the carton (21) at a carton delivery part (49) at the downstream end of the relay passage and delivering it to the downstream side. In addition, in the neighborhood of the carton delivery part (49), a fixed wall (8) for curving one folding-back edge (213) of the carton (21) to the suction head side by making the one folding-back edge (213) of the carton (21) delivered along the relay passage collide with it, and an auxiliary suction head (26) for making a separating action of the back surface sheet (b) of the carton (21) curved under a sucked condition from the suction head (15), are provided.
