PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicating instrument for a vehicle having a preventing function of window projection, concerning instruments such as a speed meter or an oil gage arranged concentrically on an instrument panel of an automobile. SOLUTION: This indicating instrument 10 for the vehicle has a display board 14 irradiated with illumination light from the back. A sheet-shaped louver means 14b for preventing the illumination light from the back of the display board from being directed toward a vehicle window 12 after being transmitted through the display board 14 is integrated into the display board 14. Since the sheet-shaped louver means blocks the light directed toward the vehicle window in the light transmitted through the display board of the vehicle, the window projection of the indicating instrument caused by irradiation of the transmitted light to the window is prevented. Hereby, the window projection of the indicating instrument for the vehicle can be prevented independently of a hood part of the instrument panel without preventing clear view of the indicating instrument by a driver. Hereby, a large-size hood part of the instrument panel is not required, and thereby the degree of freedom of design of the instrument panel and internal fittings related to the instrument panel is heightened.
