PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize a thickness of a portable device, to improve radio wave transmitting performance of the portable device, and to secure good operational performance of a key taken out of the portable device, which comprises a portable device body and the key detachably fitted to the portable device body. SOLUTION: The portable device 10 comprises the key 30 which includes a long and narrow tip part 28 and a head part 34 having a predetermined width in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the tip part 28, a ring 38 which is formed with a substantially ring-shaped linear material and is fitted to the key 30, and the portable device body 12 which includes a transmitting part 14 for sending a radio signal and has a predetermined thickness. The key 30 is detachably fitted to the portable device body 12 in a manner that the direction of the width of the head part 34 accords with the direction of the thickness of the portable device body 12. In the state that the key 30 is taken out of the portable device body 12, the ring 38 is secured to the key 30 in a manner that part of the ring 38 extends over the head 34 of the key 30 in the direction of the width of the head part 34.
