PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform watertight construction using a gasket, without cutting an upper tongue, in a joint structure for an external facing material, wherein the upper rabbets are connected together in a mutually opposed manner, or a joint structure for the external facing material and a sash frame in the connection of the external facing material, equipped with the upper rabbets, and the sash frame. SOLUTION: In a filler 21 which is composed of a rigid-rubber molding equipped with hollow parts 22 and 23, a double-faced butyl tape 8 is attached to a place to be joined under the upper rabbet 4, and a supporting lip 24, which is elongated obliquely downward, is protrusively provided at a lower end. When mounted under the upper rabbet, the filler 21 is bonded under the upper tongue by means of the butyl tape 8 in such a manner that a side surface of the filler 21 is flush with an end surface of the upper rabbet via a spacer 27, which is composed of expanded polyethylene, between the filler 21 and an end surface of the external facing material. When the external facing material 3 fitted with the filler 21 is mounted on a substrate material 25, the supporting lip 24 is brought into elastic contact with the substrate material 25 so as to support the filler 21.
