PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital data reproducing device capable of giving priority to auxiliary information of contents recorded in an optical disk by languages and selectively reading information. SOLUTION: This digital data reproducing device is provided with an auxiliary information storage part 10 for storing the auxiliary information of digital contents recorded in a recording medium, a character display part 11 for displaying data regarding a test among the information stored in the auxiliary information storage part, a language selecting part 12 for setting the kind of a language for the text data to be displayed in the character display part, and a control means 9 for determining whether the effective text data of the language selected by the language selecting part is stored in the auxiliary information storage part or not, converting the character into the language selected by the language selecting part by a language converting part 9a when the data is not stored therein, and executing control to display the effective text data in the character display part when necessary.
