PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information gathering terminal and an information retrieval system which are capable of obtaining information corresponding to a retrieval condition without causing a user to give a retrieval request again even if congestion or the like occurs to an information retrieving device. SOLUTION: When a currently retrievable state is confirmed by a circumstance confirmation part 12, the retrieval request is transmitted to the information retrieving device 2 and information coinciding with the retrieval condition is acquired from the information retrieval device 2. On the other hand, when a non-retrievable state is confirmed by the circumstance confirmation part 12, the retrieval condition is stored until the currently retrievable state is confirmed by the circumstance confirmation part 12.
