<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduced signal evaluation method which evaluates the quality of a reproduced signal of an information recording medium clearly. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, the maximum value and the minimum value of the reproduced signal of the shortest code reproduced from the information recording medium are defined respectively as IaH, IaL, the maximum value and the minimum value of the reproduced signal of the next shorted code after the shortest code reproduced from the information recording medium are defined respectively as IbH,IbL and the amplitude of the reproduced signal of a code whose length is three times or more as long as that of the longest code or the shortest code reproduced from the medium are defined as Ic.
