<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optometer capable of exhibiting high measuring precision even when the optometry is performed by an inexperienced examiner or when there is no examiner. <P>SOLUTION: When the power of astigmatism C as an objective value is 0 D, the power of eyeglasses is 0 D and the objectively measured value of vision is lower than 1.2, the astigmatism axial angle is set at 180° and 90° to perform an A(180)/A(90) test after C-0.50 D is added with the spherical equivalent being constant. Next, the angle of astigmatic axis is set at 45° and 135° to perform an A(45)/A(135) test. Then, based on the result of the A(189)/A(90) test and the result of the A(45)/A(135) test, the power of astigmatism and the astigmatic axis angle are found to confirm whether the objective value of the power of astigmatism C is 0 D or not. If the power of astigmatism is 0 D, a cross cylinder test is skipped; if the power of astigmatism is not 0D, the cross cylinder test is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
