<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission rate control method for suppressing deterioration in mobile station accommodation capability due to deficiency of a downlink transmission power resource of a wireless base station and capable of effectively utilizing the transmission capacity of a wireless interval. <P>SOLUTION: In the transmission rate control method in a mobile communication system provided with the wireless base station for performing wireless communication with a mobile station and a control station for totally controlling the wireless base station, the wireless base station monitors the downlink transmission power transmitted from the base station, detects that the downlink transmission power exceeds a prescribed level or consecutively exceeds the prescribed level for a prescribed period through the monitoring of the downlink transmission power, and reports the result of detection to the control station. The control station receives the result of detection reported from the wireless base station, decides a transmission rate lower than a current transmission rate as the downlink transmission rate of the wireless base station on the basis of the result of detection, and informs the wireless base station about information denoting the decided downlink transmission rate so as to allow the wireless base station and the mobile station to switch the downlink transmission rate between them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
