<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable good recording and reproduction by using a laser with a wavelength of 300-900 nm. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical recording medium, a salicylic acid derivative is contained in a recording layer. The salicylic acid derivative is used for the recording layer, so that the recording and the reproduction can be performed by using the laser with the wavelength of 300-900 nm, which attracts a great deal of attention as a high-density optical recording medium, particularly, a blue-violet laser with a wavelength of 400-410 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
