<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital data edit management system that enables the creation of digital data as a secondary literary work generated by a third party who edits original digital data while protecting the copyright of the original digital data. <P>SOLUTION: In the digital data edit management system, digital data stored on a server 10 are edited on a client 20. The server 10 transmits original digital data to the client upon a request from the client 20 permitted to edit the digital data. The client 20 transmits digital data generated by an edit of the original digital data to the server 10. The server 10 stores the edited digital data as a secondary literary work.
