<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time required for acquiring a code for managing an article which is written in a radio data carrier attached to each of a plurality of articles. <P>SOLUTION: The whole radio data carriers within a radio communication area are simultaneously commanded to read holding data.
