<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system which has excellent display characteristics in both of transmissive mode display and reflective mode display and which is suitable for multi-scene use and/or a multi-contents display. <P>SOLUTION: The display system is equipped with a dimmer device 10 which assumes a reflective state and a transmissive state by switching between them and a display device 20 to display information by modulating light transmitted by the dimmer device 10 and/or light reflected thereby. The dimmer device 10 has a plurality of regions each assuming the reflective state and the transmissive state independently by switching between them. When a plurality of kinds of information are displayed on the display device 20, the light reflecting state and the light transmitting state of the plurality of regions are respectively and selectively switched between them corresponding to the kinds of displayed information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
